Patient and Person Registry Project Constraints

The Patient and Person registry project defines a number of constraints on the use of HL7 version 3 models as defined by HL7 International. Most of the constraints are defined as part of this implementation guide and follow the normal process of describing the HL7 version 3 standard in a localized fashion.

A few project-wide constraints are listed below:

1. The Norwegian Person Registry project is based on the assumption that the core of all Person models is one and the same. See note on the Generic Person Model page for details.
2. The use of the "HL7 update mode" will not be used (use is not allowed) in any of the HL7 version 3 models used.
